A little more about MeI live in South Portland Maine. It is a beautiful area and I love being so close to the ocean. I try to take as many classes as I can because I love to learn more about quilting. Even if it is similar to a class I've had before, I can always learn something new from others. Pine Tree Quilters Guild Inc, www.mainequilts.org has a huge quilt show every year the last weekend in July. Each show offers classes from some very popular quilters. Some that I have taken are: Judy Murrah - Jacket Jazz, Virginia Avery - Fabric manipulations, Susan Carlson - Free Style Quilting www.susancarlson.com , Carol Doak Paper Piecing www.caroldoak.com Snippets by Cindy Walters, Invisible Appliqué by Harriett Hargrave and Curve a Phobia by Liz Porter www.fonsandporter.com I also attend Machine Quilters Expo shows for the past 3 years. It is a show that specializes in long arm quilting www.machinequiltersexpo.com (but machine quilting on regular sewing machines are welcomed too). This year it was held at the Center of New Hampshire in Manchester. It was a great place. I have taken classes for different techniques and designing. Some of the instructors I've taken classes from for the past 3 years were Donita Reeves, Karen Mctavish, Mary Eddy, Nichol Webb, Sally Terry, Sue Moates, Linda Taylor, Kathy Olson, Jodi Beamish, and Anne Bright. (order of classes taken). They all do such wonderful work and I learned soooo much from of each of them. I teach quilting at Joanne Fabrics here in Portland. The classes I give are: Beginners Quilting, Free motion quilting, Invisible Appliqué and Paper Piecing. I also offer private lessons.
