Please e-mail or call for an estimate and to set up a time to work on your quilt. I try to work in the order I receive quilting requests. Please send 1/2 of estimated total with quilt and balance is due when quilt is done. Pricing is based on the square yards of the top. I have also listed price in inches as a reference because some machine quilters use inches to price. There is a $40.00 minimum quilting charge. I do not charge a set up fee as some other quilters do. The different prices reflect the density of the quilting (more dense takes longer to do). To figure out total in square yards, take the width of top times the height then multiply the divide by 1290. Then multiply by the price. Example 70" x 90" = 6300" / 1290 = 4.884 sq yds x $18 = $87.91

I use 100% cotton unless you request otherwise. Thread charge is $6.00 and $8 for specialty threads. I recommend the same or similar color for front and back of quilt. If you have a dark top and light backing there will be dark thread showing on back. I also use poly thread called Rainbows and Pixelles. They are a pretty thread like rayon but much stronger. Great for kids quilts.
Printed cotton works best although I do carry extra wide muslin. I can also piece the back for you. Ask for price quote.
If you plan on using your quilt as a wall hanging, I can make and attach a hanging sleeve to your quilt for $15.00
The cost is $12.00 to $15.00 for most quilts. If it costs more then that for you to ship to me then there might be an increase. I use USPS Priority or UPS. You usually have the quilt within 2 days. That includes insurance for $200.
Maine state sales tax is 5%. Only batting and thread are taxed.
An additional labor charge of $15 per hour will be added for any miscellaneous work like, repairing seams, squaring up backing, piecing backing and ironing. So to save, please make sure quilt is in good order. I always let my customers know before I do any extra that will cost additional. See quilt preparation page. Prices are subject to change.
